March 2010

Just a snapshot of my dd that I messed with a bit in Photoshop.  She is the only one of my kids who still willingly allows me to take pictures, lol.

Loved

When I got my new camera, of course my first subject was my husband.  I was impressed with how clear this picture was with no lights at all around on–just the flash.  This man is not only my husband but my best friend.

Journaling reads:
2008 was our first year as homeschoolers, and I admit that I was more than a little nervous.  I worried that I wouldn’t do everything JUST right.  Well it didnt take long for that fear to disappear.  Shortly after we started the school year, we found out that our local 4H chapter had a homeschool group that met once a month.  Not only did the families there make me feel at ease and a lot less worried, it was also an excellent opportunity for you to go on some very cool field trips.

On this particular one, we went to a local state park and we learned about an Indian tribe that had settled there in the 1800’s, as well as many other things.  One of things you all seemed to enjoy the most is learning about some of the native plants and insects in our area.

The park ranger took his net out and caught a bunch of different butterflies and moths for you all to see.  He showed you how to tell which ones were butterflies and which were moths.  You guys had so much fun, and you learned some pretty awesome stuff.  We got lots of pictures, took a ton of notes and learned so much about the area we live in.

10 Years

My husband  and I will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary this week, so I thought I would do a page to print off for him.  Journaling reads:

Some times it’s hard to believe that we have been married ten years, and other times it doesn’t seem like I ever had a life without you in it.  Thank you for putting up with me and my moods, for loving my boys like they were your own and for being a man of faith who reminds me to have some when times get rough. I love you…Happy Anniversary. :)

Ancestors

A picture of my great grandfather, who I never met, but heard all kinds of good stories about.  My great grandmother died when my grandma was 7 years old and her father raised her alone.  Looking at this picture of him I see my grandma, because she looks just like him.
